SYNOPSIS:

As new technologies evolve in the fire suppression business a new "Greener" approach is becoming the front runner versus some of the traditional gas-based systems. These special hazards suppression systems, known as "Water Mist" or "Hybrid" suppression systems, are being used to protect an increasing portion of buildings everywhere. This presentation will show the benefits of these technologies, comparisons with traditional technologies and when to apply various systems. The presentation will also introduce how codes and standards apply to these technologies now, and how they may in the future. The final part of this presentation will focus on how to approach a specification to ensure that detection and suppression fire protection components are designed with each other in mind to provide greater protection while saving time and money.
