Caitlin D’Onofrio
Senior Project Manager
ULC Standards

Caitlin D’Onofrio is a Senior Project Manager at ULC Standards, she holds an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry, and is a member of the CFAA - NRC/Ottawa Chapter, The Society of Standards Professionals (SES), and Electro Federation of Canada (EFC).

She currently manages the work of the ULC Standards Technical Committee (TC) on Fire Alarm and Life Safety Equipment and Systems, and Standards under the Subcommittees on Installation and Services of Life Safety Systems, Control Units for Life Safety Systems, and Commissioning. She has managed other Standards Technical Committees, including; UL/ULC Joint TCs for Flammable and Combustible Liquid Tanks, Piping and Accessories, ULC Standards TCs for Stationary Steel and Non-Metallic Storage Containers for Flammable and Combustible Liquids and Fittings, and ULC Standards TC for Oil Water Separators. Her primary responsibilities include project planning and timelines, participating in Standards development and Codes, reviewing Revision Proposals and Requesting Call for Proposals, maintaining membership, record keeping, and facilitating meetings.

Theresa Espejo
Program Manager
Underwriters Laboratories of Canada Inc.

Theresa (Tess) Espejo currently serves as Program Manager with the Built Environment Operating Unit of ULC Inc. She:

  • Has more than 20 years of experience on standards, codes, and legislation;
  • Spent 17 years with ULC Standards managing technical committees;
  • Was a Member of Standing Committee on Hazardous Materials and Activities (National Fire Code of Canada) 2006 to 2019;
  • Is currently a Member of Standing Committee on Fire Protection (National Building Code of Canada) 2020 to 2025;
  • Is an Honourary life member: Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA)
  • Serves as Secretary and Project Manager, ISO International Workshop Agreement on safety, security and sustainability of cannabis facilities and operations (ISO IWA 37)
