Russell Fraser
Building Product Specialist
Intertek

Russell Fraser, Building Product Specialist, works with clients in Ontario and Eastern Canada is based out Intertek test lab in Mississauga. Over his 5 years at Intertek, Russell has work directly with manufacturers, contractors, consultants, and project managers assisting their understanding of testing and building code performance requirements. In addition to furnishings, areas of focus include Building & Construction Products, and Building Science Evaluations. Russell has a diploma in Electronic Engineering from Sheridan College.

SYNOPSIS:

This informative session will review the current fire code requirements for upholstered furniture and fabrics in Ontario with a focus on Commercial and Residential Building Lobbies. The presentation will provide insight into the regulatory landscape for the rest of Canada as well as requirement changes and brief history of changes to date. Beyond the regulatory requirements today, we will provide an overview of the different perspectives on fire safety vs. FR Chemicals and how this is creating more confusion for both Building Owners and Property Managers and Fire Departments.
